I would like to take a moment to reflect on my ONEFC bout against Tim Sylvia in the Philippines where I received my first no contest decision. First of all I want to mention that I feel Tim Sylvia is no slouch and the various punches he delivered in the first round were very strong but I want to make it very clear that in the second round I felt in total control and regardless of the current decision Tim would have lost this bout. I guess his comments about doing the soccer kick on me just got the best of me in this bout but let me clarify - the first kick I delivered was on his shoulder after I punched him and he went down like a tree and attempted to start moving away from me made me think he was still conscious and aware of his surroundings. The second kick was in fact to his head, but it came after I noticed this questionable overall referee running with his hand up from behind me. The reason I say questionable, is simply - in my bout alone this guy missed various serious calls; where Tim was grabbing and leveraging the fence to control our clinch in the first round. In the second round the vicious and clearly intentional head butt was simply ignored by the referee completely. Therefore I am content with my performance during this bout, specifically testing my so called "glass chin" in the first round, delivering leg kicks that ultimately broke Tim's arm and the knock down that made him go down. The kicks obviously caused the decision I received, but by the sound of my fans I hope to be back soon and keep you all excited about what's to come. My team is proud of me and I feel like I am making the right progress in my MMA career. My beef with Tim Sylvia is now behind us both and the outcome of this bout is clear to me, but I'll let you guys decide.

Comment by Casey James Canavan on September 3, 2012 at 10:19am I was in the audience during this event and i could not wait to see the pitbull in action and i am so pissed about what happend i jumped up in rage at the final choice of no contest and then after onefc decide to make the soccer kick legal ? what the hell? but it was still an honor to see the pitbull in real life.
Comment by Craig Roark on September 2, 2012 at 4:33am i finally got to see the fight and tim is still as slow and sloppy as he was in the ufc. as far as the kick that was a bull s*** call. Andrei, you won that fight and knocked the big red retard down. he just couldn't hang with you any more. Onward To Victory
Comment by ++ The Greek ++ on September 1, 2012 at 10:55pm Clearly, Andrei is taking it one fight at a time. As he hopefully continues his winning streak, he will earn the chance to once again fight in the U.F.C. I doubt this "No Contest" decision will work against Andrei's chance to return to the U.F.C., if in fact Andrei wishes to return to the U.F.C. What we should learn from this fight is this, there is no substitute for quality refereeing. Unfortunately, the referee was not in position to see the cage grabbing and the intentional head butt by T.S. An Andrei win would have been great, but it is what it is. He made it out healthy and not badly bruised.
Have a safe flight back home.
God Bless Andrei.
Comment by Briareus on September 1, 2012 at 8:34pm The kicks were irrelevant to the outcome and that is clear. Sadly, I think this fight was beneath you and another fight with Tim doesnt do anything for your progress.
I do have to add I love that you are now incorporating kicks, using the clinch well, and striking instead of just trying to out box people.
However, I got nervous a number of times when your hands got low, you took those uppercuts in the clinch, and your head movement was not great at center. I hope your progress continues and you get back to top ten form.
Stay the course!

Comment by Titanium Hammer on September 1, 2012 at 7:38pm Great fight Andrei! I agree completely with your assessment of the officiating. The ref clearly missed a lot of calls throughout the fight and the outcome of a NC is bullsh*t. It really didn't look to me that the ref cared much about your first kick and didn't decide to jump in until your second kick was over with. Timmy clearly wanted no part of you after the first round. He tagged you good in the first round and surprise...you didn't go down. So much for the glass jaw theory. Timmy knew he couldn't win the fight after the first round and he took the cowards way out. Sadly, the officials gave him that option. It's over with, you had the last word and Timmy will go to his grave knowing you kicked his ass and what your pee pee tastes like (Sorry, I know we are all supposed to be friends with Timmy and respect him now but come on...he's an ass clown and always will be.) I guarantee you that if he had won that fight he would be talking all kinds of sh*t about you right now.
As for you Andrei, you clearly made great strides in this fight. You weren't tentative to engage him and your speed has increased greatly as has the accuracy of your kicks. You fight at your best when you aren't tentative. You have improved with every fight since joining Jackson's gym and with continued dedication I see no reason why you won't continue to improve and reach your goal of becoming HW Champion once again. Onward to victory Andrei! Davai!
Comment by Abraham on September 1, 2012 at 6:52pm TKO victory. No one other than the officials are calling it a NC.
